Our Paralegal program is accredited by the Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC) This program prepares students to pursue a career as a Paralegal licensed by the Law Society of Upper Canada. A Paralegal may work as an independent provider of legal services, or in law offices or legal departments throughout the public and private sectors. Paralegals are authorized to provide legal services in substantive areas of law including: tribunal practice (e.g. WSIB and statutory accident benefits), residential landlord and tenant law and, civil litigation within the limit of the Small Claims Court. Software Instruction included in this program: PCLaw, Automated Civil Litigation (ACL3).

Students who successfully complete the Paralegal course are eligible to apply for admission to the Paralegal Licensing Program with the Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC). According to the LSUC, Paralegals must be licensed or fall within one of the categories which are exempt, in order to provide legal services in Ontario.
High School Graduation Diploma or Mature Student Status (18 years of age and academic achievement assessment passed); passing score on the triOS assessment examination; and two (2) letters of reference attesting to the applicant’s moral character, integrity and trustworthiness.
