The Law Society of Upper Canada Accredits triOS College’s Paralegal Program
– triOS Announces Launch of New Paralegal Program –
Mississauga (July 22, 2010) – The Paralegal program at triOS College has now been accredited by The Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC). As the governing body of Lawyers and Paralegals in Ontario, the LSUC has developed criteria by which post-secondary Paralegal educational programs are adjudicated. Graduates of these programs will be eligible to enter the licensing process, and once they have successfully completed the process, can be licensed to provide legal services in Ontario. This program has also been approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and is presently available at five triOS locations (Windsor, London, Kitchener, Mississauga and Toronto). With Paralegals in such high demand, this 52 week program will provide students with the core competencies and hands-on experience that will make them invaluable to employers and the public alike. Interested students can sign up now with start dates in the fall.
“It is with great excitement and anticipation that we introduce our new Paralegal program. We meticulously designed and developed each and every course to meet the standards set out by the Law Society. We are certain that our graduates will transition into the legal industry smoothly,” said triOS Legal Faculty Head Kristine Robinson-Limanek.
Some highlights of this program include the following course modules: Legal Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Legal Accounting and PCLaw, Advocacy and Small Claims Court, Owning and Operating a Small Business and Career Management as well as an internship placement. triOS is thrilled to be offering such an enriched program that will produce a talented pool of Paralegals to meet the demands and challenges of the industry.
triOS College has also recently announced their exclusive three year agreement as the only Private Career College to be in association with The Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO). Any triOS student enrolled in the Law Clerk program receives student membership with ILCO, and can write all four ILCO Provincial Examinations at all eight Ontario triOS locations.
