INSTRUCTOR POSITIONS

 

GENERAL INSTRUCTOR REQUIREMENTS

 

All Instructor positions are required to provide quality delivery of assigned courses utilizing a variety of instruction strategies, techniques and delivery methods to meet the individual learning styles of the students, in a safe and civil learning environment.  Instructors are responsible for teaching assigned courses in accordance with course competencies, taking daily attendance, and as required, grading class tests, assignments and exams.

 

CURRENT INSTRUCTOR OPPORTUNITIES

 

VIDEO GAME DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT INSTRUCTOR (Immediate)

 

We have immediate opportunities for video game programmers and video game artists interested in joining our team as Video Game Design & Development (VGDD) Instructors.

 

The modules taught in this program include Introduction to Programming with C, C++ Programming, Java Programming, Video Game Core Foundations, Video Game Core Prototyping, 2D Video Game Development, Modification Video Game Development, Mobile/Online Video Game Development, and Video Game XNA Development.

 

Successful candidates must have experience within the video game industry as a programmer, artist, or a combination of both and have 1 – 2 published titles. Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a focus in Graphics Programming. Prior teaching experience is preferred.  Professionalism combined with intermediate MS Office skills, superior communication and organizational skills will be essential to success in this role.

 

In addition the successful candidate will have experience with one or more of the following languages or software; C, C++, OGRE, RakNet, PhysX, Maya, XNA, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Flash Game Development, Dreamweaver, Flash Animation, JAVA, Eclipse, BlueJ, Apache Ant and/or Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. This position offers the opportunity for the candidate to teach specific modules relevant to their knowledge and experience.

 

Dependent on the number of modules the successful candidate can teach, relevant to their experience, this position may be considered a full-time, part-time or casual opportunity.

 

Hours of work for this position will be 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. and / or 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Monday to Friday.  Each module will run for at least one week in duration, with some modules lasting up to 8 weeks.

 

LEGAL INSTRUCTOR (Immediate)

 

We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Legal Instructor. The successful candidate must either be a licensed Lawyer or licensed Paralegal in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC). You will have Real Estate law experience as well as experience in Civil & Family Law and Wills & Estates. Previous law office or clerking experience is essential to being successful in this role. The appropriate education and 3-5 years of practical experience is mandatory. Additional requirements include intermediate MS Office skills, excellent communication and organizational skills along with a professional attitude. Proficiency in a variety of legal software programs is essential.  This position would suit a retired lawyer. This position is considered a permanent part-time opportunity, working on average four (4) hours per day, Monday to Friday.

 

PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER (Theory) INSTRUCTOR (Immediate)

 

We require an experienced Instructor to deliver our Personal Support Worker (PSW) program curriculum. Candidates must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.  In addition to being an RN the successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years practical experience in the PSW field.  Previous teaching experience in a classroom environment is mandatory as are intermediate MS Office skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills along with a professional attitude are essential. This position is considered a permanent part-time opportunity, working on average five (5) hours per day, Monday to Friday.

 

PHYSIOTHERAPIST ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR (October '10)

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to teach our Physiotherapist Assistant program. The ideal candidate will have the knowledge and experience in Medical Terminology (Anatomy, Physiology), the appropriate education and a minimum of two (2) years practical experience in a Canadian clinical physiotherapy setting. The successful candidate must be registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.  Previous teaching experience in a classroom environment is mandatory as well as the ability to enhance written material with personal experience. Intermediate MS Office skills, specifically Word is essential. You must have excellent communication and organizational skills as well as a good command of the English language. This position is considered a permanent part-time opportunity, working on average four (4) hours per day, Monday to Friday.

PHARMACY ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Assistant Instructor.  Qualified candidates must possess industry certification, including the OCP exam and have a minimum of 3 to 5 years practical hospital or retail pharmacy experience including advanced knowledge of computerized pharmacy software applications. Previous teaching experience the field is mandatory.  MS Office skills required.  Excellent oral communication skills and a professional attitude along with a passion for teaching is a must. This position is considered a permanent part-time opportunity, working on average four (4) hours per day, Monday to Friday.
