TORONTO – triOS College is proud to announce the launch of a new Police Foundations and Security program. Responding to the changing nature of policing and security, this program provides students training in areas such as Conflict Management and De-escalation, Police Authority and Discretion, and Mental Health Training for Law Enforcement. Students also will develop an understanding of modern policing practices through the program’s Introduction to 21st Century Policing course. By focusing on building critical thinking skills, understanding social activism and societal change, and learning how to engage with people with mental health issues, graduates of this program will be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to make a positive impact in their communities.

Students in this program will also complete role plays of interactions and scenarios so that they can analyze their behaviour and their impact in real-life scenarios. Through a 200-hour internship, students will gain valuable hands-on experience and further develop their skill sets while developing a professional network. Additionally, students enrolled in the Police Foundations and Security program will also receive continued support and preparation for law enforcement job applications and behavioural interviews so that they can graduate confident and prepared for a career in Policing and Security.
