Occupational Therapist -Field Placement Supervisor (January 2020, Full-time)

triOS College Business Technology Healthcare Inc., London campus, is actively seeking a Registered Occupational Therapist interested in joining the campus team as a Field Placement Supervisor for the Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

Primary Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide supervision and mentorship for triOS students completing their field placement required for their diploma. This supervision will occur in the placement facility.

Expectations for the supervisor during placement will be:
-To assess and create treatment plans for individuals referred for treatment;
-To provide the host site with possible recommendations and contact information for follow-up upon the end of placement, for those individuals who received treatment;
-To orient the student to the occupational therapy services to be provided, and clarify the student's role in relation to those services;
-To ensure the students' understanding of the supervisory role;
-To act as a liaison between the facility and triOS College;
-To ensure the facility staff involved with the student understand their role with respect to the student;
-To design a weekly calendar of activities to be followed throughout the course of the placement and ensure all students and facility staff have received a copy;
-To supervise student performance throughout the placement;
-To evaluate all students in the clinical setting by assessing overall performance as either satisfactory or unsatisfactory.

To be considered you must be a Registered Occupational Therapist in the province of Ontario with Occupational Therapy experience in a Canadian clinical occupational therapy setting. Demonstrated leadership skills including supervision, motivation and facilitation are preferred. Intermediate MS Office skills and strong command of the English language both written and verbal are essential.

The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle. This position requires travel to the placement facilities.

Hours of Work:

This position is a contract opportunity. Hours of work will be 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday.
