triOS and Revera Announce Personal Support Worker Partnership to Train Long Term Care Staff in Southern Ontario
March 4th, 2019
Kitchener/Hamilton/Scarborough – triOS College Business Technology Healthcare and Revera are thrilled to announce a joint initiative to train students in the Personal Support Worker (PSW) program with the promise of a position in the field at one of Revera’s long term care homes after completing their training.
With an aging population, the need for Personal Support Workers in Ontario continues to rise. Together, triOS College and Revera are answering that call with a partnership that benefits students who wish to become the future of the long term care support industry.
“We’re excited to partner with Revera to offer qualifying students a world class education,” said Frank Gerencser, CEO of triOS College. “Through this program, they are given a direct path to a job they can start the day after graduation.”
triOS will offer the partnered Personal Support Worker program at three campuses; Hamilton, Kitchener and Scarborough. Students will be expertly trained in safety and mobility, care planning, body systems, assisting with medications and other key areas of the field, graduating with a triOS Certificate from the Colleges’ National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) approved program.
Students who have been accepted into the program by Revera Long Term Care will be given a Conditional Letter of Employment, dependent on finishing the program. While studying, students may benefit from available employment opportunities at Revera to help prepare them for their future career. Upon graduating from the program, students will have not only the security of a job at Revera, but also assistance from the company in repaying their student loans for two years while they are working with Revera.
“Revera is excited about this innovative partnership with triOS College to train new Personal Support Workers to care for older adults in our long term care homes,” said Wendy Gilmour, Senior Vice President, Long Term Care, Revera. “We hope to recruit more people to this important industry by helping to subsidize their student loans while also offering them part-time work while they complete their PSW program.”
These 2-hour information and interview sessions will take place at Revera Long Term Care Homes at the following dates, times and addresses:
