PSW NACC BATCH2025-2026 TriOS Kitchener Please READ Hi Everyone! I am an alumni with TriOS. I am almost done with my PSW course this is my 2nd time with TriOS for a career move, it is approximately 8-9 months. My instructors are amazing and knowledgeable Sandra Dvorski-Cook for my theory and Andrea Feys for the clinical portion with placement supervision. I haven’t completed my NACC exam yet which is a requirement to work after will update once I am done😁

Amazing instructor, Sandra Dvorski Cook is the most helpful and kind instructor she is available all the time to make sure her students are getting the support they need. She explained the lecture very clearly and uses real life experience as examples to make it more clear. I have learned a lot and I am so grateful that I took PSW program with her. Thank you Senait

I'm currently enrolled in Sandra Dvorski-Cook's PSW program class, which I'm truly enjoying. She makes lessons clear and easy to follow, and her encouragement makes a big difference. She’s very supportive and genuinely cares about her students’ success. She is simply the best. My advisors also have been amazing, always helpful and responsive. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking for a wonderful learning experience.

I decided to go back to school last minute. Trios had me placed within a few weeks after osap approved. My online teacher has prepared us every step of the way she is kind and goes out over her way to answer all your questions. She is never too busy to help and prep make sure if you put in the work you will pass .Thank you Sandra for all your help and I look forward to the rest of are time together.

Andrea Fyes has been an excellent clinical supervisor at Trios College. She is very knowledgeable, supportive, and always approachable. Andrea takes the time to listen, explains things clearly, and provides constructive feedback that truly helps students grow and gain confidence in their clinical skills. She creates a positive learning environment and encourages professionalism, critical thinking, and teamwork. Her guidance and dedication have made a meaningful impact on my learning experience, and I am very grateful for her support throughout my placement.

Sandra Dvorski-Cook is a very kind and supportive instructor. She explains everything clearly and makes learning easy and comfortable. She always encourages us to do our best. I really enjoy her classes and feel more confident in my PSW learning because of her guidance.

This is my first time attending Trios College. I went through the process researching three schools for the PSW program. My intake coordinator was super helpful. There are so many steps to just get started and I feel that any questions I had, Pooja was there right away to help. I have just about finished my theory part and I am not going to sugar coat it, it is a lot of work. You have to stay caught up or else it will not work for you. The lectures have been very valuable. Lots of reading and sometimes it was difficult to manage online. The instructors so far really seem to care for their students. They want us to thrive and be successful. I am not done yet. I have labs next and I am excited to receive some hands-on experience. DC

Amazing PSW Instructor Amanda Forest Amanda is a truly outstanding instructor. She made learning clear, practical, and encouraging every step of the way. Her patience, kindness, and real-life examples helped build my confidence and skills. She genuinely cares about her students and goes above and beyond to support us. I feel well-prepared for the field because of her guidance. Highly recommend her to anyone starting their PSW journey!

I began the police foundations and security course in September of 2023, the entirety of the course was a fantastic learning experience. I had a very open minded and knowledgeable teacher who truly pushed us to become better people. I wouldn’t be where I am had I not taken this program, I went into this thinking I wanted to become a police officer. Although that’s what I thought I wanted out of this I had an underlying passion for animals and changed gears to become an animal services officer instead. I worked hard and it paid off, I graduated with distinction and got my dream job in the end, an animal services officer position opened at my local humane society! Due to my schooling background and my eagerness to learn and grow the team hired me quickly. If you ever think that you’re too old to go back to school, to pursue any dreams, push yourself out of that comfort zone you’re in because if you don’t you’ll live with the regret. I’m so grateful for everyone at triOS who helped me to excel and get to be where I am today.

Program: *** PARALEGAL STUDIES *** Start: September 2024 This is a comprehensive, initial review, written in my 2nd month of studies. I will revise this review once I have completed my studies. << Program >> - This legal diploma program is a compressed 14-month program. Once you are done, you can work as a legal assistant or as an advocate. - It is accredited by the LSO - It has 12 months of classes, Monday to Friday 9am to 1 pm. - It has a co-op for the last two months or so - You will be finishing one class every 1-2 weeks, so you need excellent time management skills to survive. Expect to work less, and/or sleep less, and/or have fun less - or suffer. - Every class has multiple assignments, mid-term exams, final exams, and group work. - You are provided with e-textbooks and online learning portals to study from. Office 365 is also provided to you along with a student email account. << Campus >> - The facility is functional and modern, and is staffed throughout the day. - The legal classes are computer labs that revolve around the use of technology. You can use these computers to do all of your work. - There is a mid-size cafeteria with seating and vending machines (coffee and snacks). - There are accessible washrooms, and the building is also accessible with 2 elevators. - It is located downtown Kitchener, is transportation accessible, and there is 2-hour street parking and a parking garage nearby. - Within 100 meters of the campus you can find places to grab a quick bite (pizza, Vietnamese subs, Vietnamese soup) << Preparation >> - Reading and comprehension: non-fiction books, or “dry readings”, are recommended. - Report-writing: focus on learning how to write, because memos, emails, claims, and factums are a daily part of this profession. - Technology: focus on learning Windows OS and Microsoft Office - Social skills and emotional intelligence; in this profession, you will be dealing with clients, co-workers, bosses, lawyers, judges, courts, and regulatory bodies, so make sure that you have the interpersonal skills to effectively interact with people. - Humility and appreciation; entering this field is a privilege and should be treated as such. - Time management skills, because this program is compressed, and also because in this profession you get cited and disciplined (and can even lose your license) if you miss an important deadline. - Explore the profession: interview working professionals, research the profession, and attend court as an observer and see how things work - Obtain relevant experience: work in related fields (admin, clerical, case management, etc.) so that you know what you are getting into and whether it is right for you. - Explore other options: If you have your heart set on BECOMING A LAWYER or law clerk, then this is not for you. Make sure you understand the differences between these careers. - Purge preconceived notions: This is not like in the movies - which are mostly based on lawyers in the US judiciary, acting out sensational cases. Reality is far more mundane, and you won't be in the limelight. << Admissions and Financial Aid >> - This was an easy process, and Nashina and Sonali were efficient, professional, and responsive. From inquiry to registration, it took a few weeks with minimal effort. << Faculty >> - The instructors are all experienced paralegals and lawyers, and they are excellent. They are genuinely invested in our success. - A special thank you to John-Paul, Justin, Susan, and Whitney for rendering the experience a positive one so far. << Management >> - The Campus Director, Lori, runs a tight ship, and yet will take the time to step in immediately to address concerns to the benefit of the students. - The administrators, Jinu, Marianne, and Rebecca, are kind and professional, and are there throughout the day to help.

Went for the first time for a massage…and my God I cannot say enough positive things about this place. My restless leg is now the good leg after I walked away. I still can’t thank you guys for what you do. The student massage therapists are great and the price ($30 for 1 hour) can't be beat. You can book up to 5 appointments in advance but appointments have gotten a lot easier to get lately as more students are working on getting their hours
