triOS College Launches New Early Childhood Education Diploma Program in Toronto and Mississauga
December 19th, 2025
Toronto, ON: triOS College, part of the triOS Education Group, is proud to announce the launch of its Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma program, now available at the Toronto and Mississauga campuses. The Early Childhood Education Diploma Program (16 months consecutive) offered by triOS College at the Mississauga and Toronto campuses only, has been approved by the College of Early Childhood Educators for a period of two years (2026-2028) for the purpose of meeting the education requirement for registration.
The Early Childhood Education program responds to the demand for qualified educators in Ontario’s expanding early learning and care sector. The 60 week ECE diploma program prepares students to support children’s growth and development from birth to age twelve. In addition to classroom theory, students will participate in practicum experiences that include mentorship by Registered Early Childhood Educators to facilitate the development of skills necessary to teach children in various learning environments.
“This program reflects the evolving needs of today’s early learning sector,” said Rachel Lafferty, Early Childhood Educator. “Early Childhood Educators are foundational to supporting children and families, and our CECE-approved program equips students with the confidence, knowledge, and real-world experience to make a meaningful impact in their communities.”
Program Highlights
- College of Early Childhood Education (CECE) Education Approved Program: Graduates meet the education requirement for registration.
- Practicum Experience: Students complete 525 hours of supervised field practicums supported by weekly seminars that connect theory to real-world practice.
- Comprehensive Curriculum: Courses include child development, curriculum planning, health and safety, inclusion and exceptionalities, Indigenous Studies, and professional wellness.
- Career-Ready Preparation: Career planning and digital literacy courses help students develop essential professional skills and job-readiness before graduation.
- Consecutive Delivery Model: The ECE Program is delivered over 16 consecutive months, offering a faster pathway than traditional public colleges.
- Career Security: Early Childhood Educators are in high demand in Ontario and earn between $18-29 hourly.
The Early Childhood Education diploma program prepares graduates for a variety of roles, as Registered Early Childhood Educators. With a curriculum designed to support inclusive, play-based learning and culturally responsive teaching, graduates are equipped to thrive in early learning and care centres, elementary schools, agencies for exceptional children, before and after school programs, recreational programs, and home based care.
