triOS College Business Technology Healthcare has joined a signature consortium of educational institutions to support the innovative Military Employment Transition (MET) Program.

The skills conversion program helps Canadian Armed Force veterans transition into the corporate workforce by recognizing military training and service as credits that can be applied towards post-secondary credentials.

“The MET and triOS College have similar goals of helping people find success in the workforce. As a Career College, we have helped so many people get the skills they need to transition into new careers. Canadian Armed Force members have given so much for our country, it is extraordinary that we now get to help them with skills-retraining to find their second careers,” said Frank Gerencser, Chairmen and CEO of triOS College Business Technology Healthcare Inc.

The Department of National Defence, Veterans Affairs Canada and Canada Company have already begun the process of matching military personnel with schools and programs that fit with their skill-sets. Interested veterans can visit www.canadacompany.ca to register for the program.

Veteran Affairs Canada is 100 per cent in support of the program and all the institutions on the consortium which span from British Columbia to the Atlantic Provinces. Each institution will start with six to eight core programs that best suit the skillset for the veterans represented in the region. The military training received during their service within the Armed Forces will translate into educational credits that will be used as advanced standing towards their diploma. The program will help to bridge the gap between corporate Canada and the Canadian Armed Forces.

Canada Company is a non-partisan charitable organization founded in 2006 by AGF Chairman and CEO Blake C. Goldring to bridge the gap between the Canadian military and corporate Canada. With over 2,000 registered military members and that number growing by the day, the MET program is proud of the assistance they are providing to the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces.
